Iced drinks in glasses

In short

At Frümee, a coffee shop on Rue Hassania in Gueliz (Marrakech), an espresso costs 20 DH, a cappuccino or caffè latte 35 DH. The menu also has iced coffees in 40 cl, matcha, mint tea and fresh-squeezed juices, to take away, every day, 11:00 – 23:00.

Where to have a coffee in Gueliz?

On Rue Hassania, in the heart of Gueliz, the Frümee coffee shop is open every day, 11:00 – 23:00. People come for a late-morning espresso, an afternoon caffè latte or an iced coffee when Marrakech heats up, and often for a frozen fruit as well.

The menu runs from the simplest coffee, at 20 DH, to the house creations. It has four parts: hot drinks, iced coffees and teas, matcha and ube, and cold drinks.

Espresso, double espresso, americano: what is the difference?

It all starts with espresso: a short coffee, extracted under pressure, that concentrates the aroma and body of the coffee in a small cup. A double espresso is the double version, for those who like a stronger coffee. An americano is an espresso topped up with hot water: longer and gentler, it is a coffee to sip slowly.

On our menu:

  • Espresso, 20 DH: an intense, rounded, perfectly balanced coffee.
  • Double espresso, 30 DH: twice as intense, for lovers of strong coffee.
  • Americano, 30 DH: a long espresso, smooth and aromatic.

Cappuccino or caffè latte: which one to choose?

Both combine an espresso with steamed milk. A cappuccino keeps a thicker milk foam and a stronger coffee taste. A caffè latte has more milk and a finer foam: it is softer and creamier, and often the first choice of people who find espresso too strong.

If you cannot decide: cappuccino to taste the coffee, caffè latte for softness.

  • Cappuccino, 35 DH: espresso, velvety milk and a light foam.
  • Café latte, 35 DH: a smooth, creamy coffee, crowned with a delicate foam.
  • Hot chocolate, 35 DH: a rich, comforting chocolate, all softness.

What to drink when it is hot in Marrakech?

For much of the year, an iced coffee is the obvious choice. Our iced coffees and teas come in 40 cl:

  • Iced americano, 35 DH: a chilled espresso, light and perfectly balanced.
  • Iced latte, 40 DH: smooth coffee and creamy milk. Plain, vanilla or caramel.
  • Iced tea, 50 DH: a fragrant iced tea, fresh and thirst-quenching. Lemon, peach or passion fruit.
  • Iced mocha, 50 DH: coffee, chocolate and freshness in one indulgent drink.

The iced latte is the caffè latte served cold: the easiest way into iced coffee.

And for people who don’t drink coffee?

The mint tea (25 DH): fresh mint, infused and served the Moroccan way. For matcha and ube, the menu offers matcha latte, vanilla matcha, matcha coconut, ube latte, ube mango and vanilla ube, in 40 cl.

The matcha latte (60 DH) comes hot or iced. And for something simple and fresh: fresh juice, 30 DH: fresh fruit juice, squeezed to order. Orange or lemon.

What are the coffee shop’s creations?

Two hot drinks created by the house:

  • Café gourmand, 90 DH: a measured selection of chocolate, date and purple fig.
  • Flower tea, 60 DH: tea infused with a sculpted apple, with a touch of honey.

A coffee with a fresh dessert?

At the coffee shop, coffee goes with a frozen fruit: the fruit itself, hollowed out by hand and filled with a sorbet of its own flesh, from 30 DH. An espresso and a frozen lemon, an iced latte and a mango: that is the break people come for on Rue Hassania.
